Looking at buying a new SUV for wifey. What I’m looking at is the 4 Door Wrangler or the Liberty. Have you driven these? Thoughts?

and if you are gonna spend the money by the Rubicon version it has all the extras you would want for the weekend camping fun rig, D44s frt + rear with electric lockers and a 4:1 tcase

Driven both .. Only one is a Jeep and its only a half jeep , the liberty's and patrts and all that other BULLSHIT are no different the a dodge calber or neon in a truck style.. pop together and fall apart construction , New style transmission in them that Just simply SUCK HUGE!!!.

Just my 2 cents..

no room in the cab of a liberty. your kids would have no leg room in the back seat...

Tops are optoinal. The new JK 4 door is nice, but the 3.8 just seems to have no balls, especially with the auto. But for just driving around it is nice.

So far ours has had some issues with the touch screen stereo crap and there is something loose inside the drivers door post that rattles on gravel roads.

An FJ Cruiser would blow any of the above outta the water and last way way longer and then some, Talk to Tim about his Rubicon and all the shitty troubles he has had with his:dontknow:

We test drove both and went with the 4 door. also test drove the FJ which I liked but my wife said she couldnt see out the sides or back (visibility is bad for small people anyway) ours came with soft and hard tops. The Rubicon is nice but for the wheeling my wife does I could'nt justify the nearing 40k price tag. We ordered the sahara with a few wheel and tow package upgrades and the premium stereo. Its a great family Vehicle. I keep the wheeling to the old TJ, and after owning the 4 door for a year I have decided that I may put in a 2.5 Spacer kit and a bit larger tires on when tires are needed, but I wont do any other mods. All other money will go into the bush rig.

being a 4 door rubi owner, i am so glad i got it. the few times i have wheeled it without my husband the lockers came in super handy. it made me look like an experienced wheeler.[15] i felt confident with the rig, which i don't think i would have been so confident without the lockers.

We are not buying this for a wheeling rig. We are looking for a DD that can go down the rocks to a camping spot that we go to without any trouble.

i can understand that but when your main rig is broken down you can still go out in this one for that trip you did not want to miss.
