Ok i recently got an 90 ranger xtd cab for wheeling and camping, sold my other truck. I want to put a strait axle in it, i was just wondering what a decent front axle would be to swap in instead of the TTB. Im only going to be running 33's on it,as i plan on doing some road trips with it, and its only got the 2.9L.Ive heard of a lot of guys putting in a 44 out of a wagoneer in, and about steering whats another good set up? any help would be sweet so i can start looking and getting the parts. Thank you[cheers]

from what I've heard a dana 44 from an early bronco. i think the 44 was form 73 to 77 and 66 to 73 was the dana 30

I did my 99 Explorer with a D30 works ok...
Went Leaf springs because of the stupid double A arm set up that was in it...
With the ranger I would go coil springs and radius arms on a Cherokee D30
It will handle 35's if it's not locked up front and you don't jump it...
Here's some pix's...

Thats with the 31's on it worked out to be about 9" of lift...
My 35's should be here this week[36]
I have changed a few things around since the original build The shocks and some of the steering stuff...
There is a write up on the build on here some where look around...
Cheers Randy...
