Just picked up a 82 yota and I havnt found much on the net on lifting. I have yet to pick the truck up; but just starting some research.

I want to do something basic. I can make some shackles for the rear, and I believe the front is also leaf. Can I shackle the front also? Now the yota is diff over leafs. Can I flip the diffs under the leafs for a few added inches? Anything else I should be aware of other than steering? I dont want anything bigger than 33's, but a little bit more flex would be nice.

just go with a 4' lift for it if you don't want it too high. pro comp or build a leaf pack and do your own shackles.

you cant really do a front shackle it will throw your pinion angle way off,but you can shackle the rear and yes i would put the diffs under the springs,i personaly have never seen an 82 yota with a spring under set up,unless you have a landcrusier then i can see it,then if you want a little more lift throw in a body lift[cheers]

you CAN do a front shackle lift .. but you MUST use a corrective 4* or 6* shim (depending on the shackle size) .. there also not real popular to build yourself , because the front shackle has bends , and unless you have a large press , you wont be able to build em' ... you can still buy them though .

uhhhh first of all if ya did a spring under on it i would slap you. doing a sping under would lowerthe truck, not raise it. I have 2inch lift shackles(4inch longer then stock) on my toy with no caster shims and it drives good. no wobbles and drives striaght. I'm sure my highsteer helps out with that.

sky manufacturing has 1" lift boomerang shackles that could give ya abit of lift in the front....or just cut the rear fenders and get some high clearance fiberglass fenders off slacker and stuff the 33's on

I think we need to know if this is a pickup or Land cruiser. If its spring under I guess its a LC.

2" lift shackles for the front? Where do I get them from? I dont need to modify the steering? And I can make shackles for the rear. All I would need to buy for a 2" lift is just front shackles?

Get some 63" chevy fullsize springs for the rear, around 2-3 inches of lift and the flex pretty good.
