They actually give u better range/clearance? or is it all just for looks?

For them to work correctly they have to bee at least 8' apart or they just cancell one and other out that is why the are mounted on the mirrors of semis.

If you want better reception than normal... Get a 108" steel antenia with the coil spring that would give ya a full wave

from what i understand two antennas are for distance in a straight line the two side by side will transmit only in the direction across from each other front and back not in a 360 direction but what do i know [cheers]

It you want better range just up the power to your antena.

my friend was tellin me that shorter antennas are better than long ones because there is less restriction, thus carrying the wave longer, but i dunno just my 2 cents
