Heard about this place recently, and had to check it out!

Some background material: http://www.joejack.com/theoldstonechurch.html

“The church of no services...in which no congregation has ever gathered”

It was a dreary day, but I happened to be down in Duncan, and decided to make a quick run over here to check it out. It's just past the St. Ann’s Church at the base of Tzouhalem, a few blocks past on a hill(Comiaken Hill) on the right.

Maybe I'm crazy, but the whole thing felt a bit eerie. I'll be back to shoot s'more pictures on a nicer day.

There's something about it being rebuilt in 1950-something in that link... perhaps the trusses were put in then...

wow it's been awhile since ive seen stone church. I used to live just a few miles from there and me and my buddies would drink in there. The story has it that the church is built on an old indian burail ground and was never finished due to workers dieing on the job. great place to visit to bad you didn't take a pic of the ocean from up there.

Yeah, I heard it's quite the local drinking spot!

I didn't get a shot of the ocean from there, but on a previous trip up Mt. Tzouhalem, I happened to take this following picture that has the church in it..

Here's the link to the EXTRA LARGE VERSION (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2229/2173246135_dc186ddb3d_o.jpg) (find the church!)
