Failed air care last month

i knew i would cause i run a hollow cat and other little goodies too
but what confused me was they put my 91 yj on 2 dynos ????

i could tell my jeep was tuning them both with rear tires only i assume some belt drive or something connects the 2 as per a slight lag in the front one.

so i ask why they do this on a jeep with 2 wheel drive capability and he says cause yer tranny will explode '' WTF ???" best not ever get stuck in the mud in 2 wheel drive eh !!!

this seems wrong to me why 2 dynos ????:dontknow:

alot of the newer ALL WHEEL DRIVE suv's and halfway4x4's need the 2 sets of rollers, the folks down at air care dont allways know the difrance these days on what clasifyes as all wheel and 4wheel so instead of taking the chance and blowing up yer truck and getting stuck buying you a new trany, they just test all the 4 wheel drives that way.. I think....

basically they blew up a few new suvs in the 90s . so two dynos was the answer. just go in winter and were an old set of studs. idle test only.easy pass!

I hate Aircare as much as the next person, but if you go to the Island or up North. You can see all the Junk, shit, smoking cars that are still on the road. They should revamp it, and include everyone. or fuck off withit all. Here in the Tri-Cities, you can notice that most the cars on the road today are mid 90's and newer and they keep them in decent running condition.

They put ALL jeeps on the 4wheel dyno because their employees are too stupid to be forced to figure out which vehicles are AWD/FullTime 4x or not.. AWD vehicles with a viscous coupling transfer case will spin the rears like crazy until the case heats up and explodes..so they just put everyone that could potentially have fulltime on it.

you dont need to e on a 4 wheel dyno you've got manual hubs.

as for passing it just retadr your timing abit and retest on a two wheel dyno I've ran numerous cars through aircare with no cat not even a hollowed out one. And passed

They still put my CJ5 on the 4 wheel dyno.. even with manual hubs.... best part was that they couldn't keep it straight on the dyno, and had to settle on an idle test alone. That's two years back now... thank god for the island - LAND OF NO AIRCARE!

Hey, they only make the rules in Victoria, they don't want to actually FOLLOW them here.

up until april 30th , if you have studded tires, you are only required to do the idle test.

They dont put my land cruiser on the dyno on boundary. They idle test it every time. There dyno is only good to 3000kgs over that its idle only.

Go though in 4by at 0psi so your tires flex right over the rollers then all they can do is an idle test

Well I guess I don't have hubs so they would run it on the 4w dyno :dontknow: but with the newer fuel injection it should have no problem anyways, I asked one of the guys there one day whats the biggest tire you can run on the dyno but he wasn't sure but told me my side lugs my get ripped on it ,they better fucking hope that doesn't happen

So Spanky whats the biggest tire you can run? And how wide can your truck be? my truck is 8ft outside to outside of the tire on 42's
