i was looking at buying a frontier and was just wondering how they are off road. how well the auto hubs are if they need to be replaced because they dont work. then how strong they are like how long they last.

Mine has been good to me so far, but only had it for a year and a half. Haven't had any probs with my hubs, but if and when they break I'll replace them with manuals, it's no big deal. Not much aftermarket support for the pre-2005 fronty's though.
It's all going to depend on how you use it, anything can be broken if you try hard enough. :)

Fronty's are good. the problem with the hubs:
you go forward, then back, when you put it in reverse the hubs will unlock until they lock while moving backwards. This can cause you to have 2 wheel drive when you really need 4. If you just drive logging roads, they ar fine. if you really want it to be reliable.. Warn manual hubs are about 120 bucks or so.
good insurance for cheep
