Can a Cadillac 472 or 500 crank be used in a 454 block.Has anyone done it?Was thinking about this this morning?

but you can take a 502 throw some elderodo heads on it (bumps er up to 10:1) and run er on prem

502? the only 502 I know of is chevy, and caddy heads wont fit very good.

Early 472 heads work great on the 500 engines. Adapting these engines to different transmissions is a bit of a chore, and aftermarket parts for them are expensive. Valvetrain is weak and bottom ends aren't as tough as BBC either but on the up side they are only 35lbs heavier than a SBC. With a few mods and lots of cash they can rip!Boobies2

LSX 454 small block.. those are wicked.. I watched the show when reggie jackson was the first "civilian" to get one in his 68 camaro!
