So I got a garbageeeee 700R4 for my 85 chevy wrangler... I took it into A&B Transmission in langley to be rebuilt but when they tore it appart they told me someone had tried to modify it... A new is needed so I'm trying to get a used one to save money because I don't have a lot of money. There seems to be lots of 700R4 at the wreakers but they're all for gas 350. Now I know one of those would bolt right up with my torque converter but the valving will be off, valving being the shift points. What would be the difference I'm wondering and will it work? Now I have 38in swampers sooooo higher revs might help... remember its an old 6.2 diesel no turbo it vintage but a beast! Any help would be great, Thanks! [36]

Swap in a SM465. :party0010:

Probably cheaper than a rebuilt TH700.
