View Full Version : Whats needed for crossover steering on a 79 1/2T

My buddy and I were talking about what is needed for him to do a crossover steering conversion for his 79 1/2T 4X4. Hes already got a 4" lift and 10-bolt up front. Just curious as to what is needed.

flat top knuckle for the passerner siide cross over arm 2wd steerin box take your tie rods off the draglink 78 bronco drop pitman dom tube 1 5/8 .350 and jam nuts some of the stuff you can get at www.northwestfab.com (http://www.northwestfab.com) easy to do done a few [cheers]

Yeah, like he said. You need the 2wd box because the IFS 2wd's had crossover already, the arm moves side to side instead of front to back and bolts up to the same location.
You need to find a flat top knuckle which might be difficult - I have the steering arm you'll need though at my shop. (the arm you need to mount onto your flattop knuckle)
