Grandpa and I go ice fishing two days. On December 31st and today, January 2nd. We go to Shannon Lake. On the first day, the Conservation Officer come out and check licenses. We surprised. He was very friendly. Talk about roads in mountains being really icy and dangerous. I catch lots of Yellow Perch and 1 Small Mouth Bass. We walk across lake. Ice on sunny side, ice not thick. Only 1 1/2 inches. About 5 or 6 inches on other side. Today really cold. Wind was blowing a lot and started blowing chairs over and sled on the ice. I caught all the fish. Grandpa only catch one. I caught one really big Perch. Biggest Perch I every caught. In picture below. 13 inches which is big for Perch. I keep and taxidermy this one. I go fishing again and again. I like fishing.

Not yet! Some high lakes might be OK, but better February or March. Sometimes they have mini-car races on Duck Lake off Highway 97 near Kelowna Not every year. By late Jan. or February most high lakes OK. Have to be careful.

Pink maggots with one red egg. It was slow sometimes, but this worked best.
