if your using a ford engine, you'll probably be using a ford tranny and t case....... which would mean the t case would have a driveside output for the front. toyota's are passenger side so toy axles wont work. do it once do it right, put a ford hi pin. 60 in the front and 60 in the rear or 14bFF dont mess around with dana 44's unless you wanna put lots of $$ into them

u could go with a wagoneer dana 44 lil cheap and easyier to get pretty much same width as toy rear axle, i wish i put that in my toy then i wouldnt of had to deal wth the stupid birfields

you think dana 44 are stronger then stock toy diffs?[15] theres a reason people swap in dana 60'd and not 44's

so true, obvioulsy he's just saying that as a shot in the dark and hasnt put any real thought into that statement...kingpin vs. balljoint and the cost of doing just plain crossover low steering on a dana44 is rediculous for ending up with an axle of no greater strength, it's cheaper to just buy longfields.

if you wanna stay toyota you can cut and turn a toyota diff 180* to get the diff on the proper side. otherwise your looking for 79 and earlier ford diffs, f150's, bronco's and most f250's would have hp44's up front some f250's and all f350's have kingpin hp60's
