If your only looking to go Carb then look around for an old 725cfm Quadrajet the only thing better than that is fuel injection or propane

Q jets come in two sizes, 750 and 800cfm,,,,,,,,,, and yup best carb out there.

Then just go propane now, The cost of your fuel for the next bit will just be killing you. They figure gas is going up another 5-7c tonight.

I have had good success with the truck avenger. The mods they've made are what you usually have to do to a stocker to make it work. Make sure it says truck avenger not street avenger or you'll hate it. I have always used holleys simlpy because of the price, they can be finicky but they do work well. I really like using the LM-1 air/fuel meter from Innovate Motorsports to tune things, take a lot of the guess work out. Try to avoid center hung bowls go with side hung, and a vacuum secondary will save a bit of fuel over the double pumpers. I would run a 750 or 850 on a 460. Don't know much about q-jets thats more of a chebby thing!
