thinking about buying an 86 f150 off of a buddy but the ignition wont work u put in the key and it wont move i pissed around for 2 hours tryed all 3 keys, the steering is locked i tryed to break it free to see if that worked and it didnt, any ideas, i dont wana just push button it.

no it worked the othery day and hes had the truck for years. i just whent to pay for it today and then the key stoped working

move the wheel when you try to turn the key? buy a chev?

heh at where I work our shop '91 F150 is now keyless ignition for some reason, key won't go into the ignition cylinder at all, however you can start it keylessly, go figure......been drivin the thing for over 4 years.......thinkin a new cylinder is in order soon !

not to sure about the fords but took me about 10 minutes in my chev w/o knowing what im doing

they are cheap and easy to replace if u can change a tire u can change it,,,,,

all ya need is a phillips screw driver and needle nose vise grips no damage done.
PM me if you need directions for obvios reasons I wont post directions

done deal, it took me awile to get the old cilider out but 5 seconds to get the new one it

hey epic3 could you pm me those directons, my cylinder isnt worn its the rod that goes to the cylinder that pushes on the switch, i think the top is broken off... Right now i use plyers to push the rod down
