how fast should a cooling system build up pressure?

had my truck running for about 2 mins today, and when i opened the cap there seemed to be quite a bit of pressure there.

head was done a few months back. no oil in coolant or coolant in oil etc. coolant doesnt bubble when cap is left off. Just put the head on a month ago. been wheeling a couple times with no problems, doesnt over heat or anything.

pressure is built with heat ... expansion !

yes, im aware of that. another thing that builds pressure is cracked head or bad headgasket. seeing how i just did the headgasket, i'd like to rule that out so i dont have to worry.

i was just concerned with how fast it builds pressure.

if its not bubbling I wouldent wory about it, if it was leaking enuf to build extra pressure, you would have bubbles for shure

ehhhhhhh wait a minute here......I've seen new headgasket jobs be bad right from the start, an engine shouldn't build any pressure in 2 minutes.....at idle, you got an air leak somewhere.....check it out.
