Hey Guys,

I need some suggestions on what to do. I have a 92 YJ, its on 31's and it does have a lift i think its maybe 2 to 4 inch (thinking closer to 4). I need new tires and the bf has got a set of 33's on the toyota that we want to put on the jeep (he will put 36's on the toy) but we have gotten mixed suggestions on what to do :dontknow: . Some ppl think that the 33's will be to big and i will have to do alot of stuff to make them fit, other ppl say i will have no prob. So i need to know what some of ya think, i have pics of my Jeep and the Toyota with the tires so let me know what ya guys think. What i would like to know is what kinda problems if any will i be running into, is there anything to watch for and the best way to go about it. Im not to worried about the front i think that will be fine its the back, not sure if there will be enough room. Please let me know what ya think

[cheers] thanx ky

Based only on the one picture it's hard to tell, but the lift looks closer to 2.5" than 4" and I would say - based on just this picture, that the 33's will rub even partially flexed.

I agree with factor though - measure it up and see what kind of clearance you will be left with. You may get away with it.... you may not.

do you know what kind of lift you have?

Tj's and YJ's are different but I have 32's on my TJ and its stock. ....

It doesnt look like like a 4" lift but it could just be the picture.... its hard for us to say seeing YOU dont know how much ur truck is lifted, etc...

you could always throw the tires on...go for a drive and see if it rubs?

Mine has a 2.5" lift and longer shackles, here's a picture with 33's on it. It flexes out pretty good and hardly ever rubs.

Hope this helps ya decide what to do. [cheers]

4" trailmaster lift, rancho 9000 shocks, 1" body lift, swaybar discos.

Proven setup (I've run this combo on 2 seperate YJs and itworked really well), good articulation, 32's will fit with no rubbing, 33's might require either very mild trimming or 1" extended bumpstops depending on rim backspacing.

my bf just bought bf all terrian for my jeep in size 32" and he is putting a four inch suspension in it for good clearance, he has a set of bf's on his and he loves them-- low noise on the road, good traction, and they have lasted very long time, he drives everyday on them

A 2" lift is good and cheap and will work, but 3-4" lift will alow you to do some mods in the future. (like 35" MTRs)

Hey thanx for the help :)
I saw your sticker Dirka Dave, very true i havent had to do much to mine yet....knock on wood. And Big_Ern although i would not selling my jeep (b/c i love it... hehe) i will let ya know that we are putting stuff into the Toy, its getting a lift new 38's winch put on and i think a few more little things. That should be done in the next few weeks... i hope :dontknow: . And as for my jeep its getting put in the back burner, we are just gonna stick with the 31's for now :( until the toy is done. Some how his truck always gets stuff done to it before mine!
Thanx for all the input so far guys [cheers]

Another fix is longer shackles, athough I would not go more then 1"-2". Also you will have to watch the back spacing and the width of the rims you get. How wide are BFG's?

I'd love to see ya put longer shackles on a truck that is coil sprung..

Good to know, although his truck is completely different from yours in almost every way.

EDIT.. Apparently i'm reading the wrong fucking thread. Disregard my comments, hahaha. I thought y'all were talking about a ZJ
