i just imported a 02 f350 from the states. crewcab longbox 7.3 10 inch lift on 40 inch boggers. I have to take her for an inspection at crappy tire this weekend, i think i will be under the bumper and headlight height restrictions with the set of 33's i got but im not sure about the noise limit its got a 4 inch straight pipe running up the front of the bed into 2 stacks, had anybody had any experiece with these inspections the truck is fairly loud so im thinking i might have to buy a muffler? which kind sounds the best?

back to the question of which muffler to buy?

everything from out of contry has to go through candaian tire, any certified shop can do the provicial inspection whitch is the same as a gov issued safty inspection(vi), but candain tire is the only place canda wide that is certified for the fediral(out of country) inspection, the truck will haveto pass bolth, there is a handfull of smaller shops that can do the fediral but I dont know of them, as far as the noise, I doubt your inspector will have a decible meater on hand so I will be upto his disctretion, technicaly though unless ford offerd those stacks stock Im prity shure there gona havto go, the cat is still technically saposto be there, depends on how sticky your inspector ends up beeing, good luck.

mullet the newer superdutys have a metric wheel pattern 8 x 170mm. I can't remember the year they changed but you might wanna check it out first.

hey too bad u are not closer, i just turfed my 2001 stock 7.3 exhaust into the trash. I have a stock muffler and cat. I put a 4" straight pipe on mine. Sounded like a JET!!!!!
Your bolt pattern is 8x170, 1999-2004. They changed the backspacing in 2005 but same bolt pattern.

Duff is right about crappy tire, they are the federal inspection.
Your gonna have to peel off that front window tint also.

Nice truck[36] I copied and pasted this for you out of the vi manual should anser your q's about the exhaust :dontknow: See what happens i'd sugest going to the wrecker or see if somone has some stock take off stuff cause if your gonna run it like that odds are you'll get pinched and sent for an other vi so you might want to have stuff ready to drop in[cheers]

Arent stacks not legal? Exhaust cannot be pointing up at all. Dont take it to cdn tire you gonna have a hard time to get any one to even inspect it. Liability issue. what ever you do dont put the inspection sticker on your window. Pigs are really coming down on raised/lowered vehicles. You need DRL's to get it through and a cat. Make sure you aim the lights and put side indicators if you dont have them. Bring beer and doughnuts too.

You DONT need to take anything from out of country to canadian tire. I've inported 5 trucks from japan, 3 from germany. Never got one done at cdn tire.

swet good on ya, pay off the tech at cambodia tire, dont worry im sure theres only about 5 rcmp browsing the site tonight. might as well leave your phone number and address too. theres not a chance any legit inspector would even think of putting his ticket and license on the line for ya. sucks man its a nice truck but you gonna have to take er down and put factory exhaust/ kat on get rid of the tint, add drl's mud flaps etc... max height to bottom of bumper 30" and headlight height 140 cm
