bully dog chip
and engine temps get way up their he took like a 15 min cooldown idel

4doorShorty
11-26-2007, 09:09 AM
engine temps are different then EGT's...high engine temps roast bearings and rings....high EGTs nuke pistons. Most ppl dont get theirs past 1200 degrees F, with something like 1500F being catastrophic.

PowerStroke
11-26-2007, 12:11 PM
sorry regualte was a little off, it's a edge chip w/ attitude, hot tune. 4" pipe off turbo. no cat no muffler. my egts only sit at 1100 to 1250 pegged. and the engine temps get to 208 when i sit on it like that for a while. i monitor the tuner pretty closely when im being a jack ass like that. before when it was only chipped it hit 1300- 1400 + egts
lol straight pipe improve it alot....

considering aluminum melts at 1220 degrees 13 and 1400 degree temps are not good for any amount of time

keep in mind if your getting the tempurater post turbo it will read cooler then pre turbo
so 1100 degrees post turbo is going to be 1350 pre turbo
pre being manifold

mine doing 120 down the freeway runs 800 to 850 stock tune with 5 inch exhaust and the stock intake
if your getting 1100 with an edge tuner holding it pinned for that long your not getting an accurate temperature and the damage is probably allready done

you should go dyno it and see what its really doing for rwhp and get some opinions on your temps to be sure your not doign damage

According to "edge" you get 140 HP from the 5 stage with factory intake and exaust. 300 + 140 in my books is over 400.

hahaha
thats not how it works son

if your using the edge on level 5 ill put money on you getting yourself a rebuild after 3 or 4 more of those burnouts
and its not a cheap rebuild
figure on at least 7000 plus when ford takes your heads off and sais sorry warranty is void due to program modifications
using a chip leaves a swirl like marking on the pistons

when afe sais you get gains of 75 hp with a stage 3 air intake
it doesnt mean you do
when edge tells you your gettin 140 hp
it doesnt mean you are
when mbpr sais youll gain 60 hp with a 5 inch exhaust
your not

oh and that 300 hp your speak of is more like 230
6 litre with an edge is maybe 320 to the rear wheels but it really only takes about 200 to do what you did in the video
none the less it looks and sounds cool

check out the bd site and find all the dyno runs other guys have done
it gives you a list of mods they have done and youll be suprised to see how low the ford numbers are wit hthe lists of mods

i think the 300 hp he says is at the crank :dontknow:

PowerStroke

over 400 on the fly, not to the ground i thought that was obvious.

and on level five with exhaust, at bd it dyno'd at 335 rwhp. no bad for a little amount of mods, and yes certain dealerships will warrenty modded trucks. some wont. and when you quote other people, and then talk to me, relize i didnt say what you quoted so dont refer to me as the guy claiming that.
