so its been doin it sometimes lately.

When my truck sometimes starts when i go to start it i mean the starter makes a load noise and as soon as it starts and disengages it makes a nasty crunching noise almoost or grinding. If i replaced the starter wouldit fix it or is it maybe my flywheel? Or is there just a gear i can buy for the starter..

I guess the best thing to do would be to just take it out and look at the gear. But any ideas?

take it out look at the gear most likly its just a pooched starter but thats just a guess

either its got a dead starter (could be the drive gear, which if you buy a rebuild kit, comes with a new one) or flywheel has teeth grinded out of it. Those are the most likely ideas.

maybe that has something to do with your truck catching fire
