My husband was out looking for parts one day and came home with this. He told me he didn't know he was going to do with it, but he had to have it...LOL! I only rode in it once...does the term lumber wagon mean any thing. It was a 6x6 with a truck body on it. It weight close to 10,000 pounds. Anyways while we owned it, there were always people stopping to look at this thing.?? Anyhow, it is now long gone, but the reason I am posting this truck is I saw pictures of an old black ford on tractor tires and I thought that was our old truck...I was wrong. Anyways here it is! The last picture is of the day the truck left...and yes my husband was getting ready to put those big tires on that truck, but they went with the truck also, thank goodness.

Pretty cool...there are a few of those old log trucks around here rotting away in the bush. I wonder what ever happened to that truck, be interesting to find out. Thanks for the pictures. [cheers]

When we sold it in 2005 it went some where in Michigan. I think the guys name was Dale...not that helps anything at all. Just what I can remember.

Coming down a little hard on the newbie Heavy? I think it's kind of cool to see a Yankee (oops, hope that's not too politically incorrect for everyone [16] ) on the site. At least they aren't posting racist jokes and pissing you guys off like the others have.

And looked like a cool project, for a Ford that is! :D

The bumper is all beat up on this truck from making its own trails! It was a beast.

I thought it was similar to the Big Black ford on tractor tires I saw in some of the pictures, stacks and black smoke...ring any bells??? Anyhow, I thought you guys might get a kickout of it.

It's retards putting out dum fuck posts like this one that just pisses me off. Ever wonder why I hardly post here anymore, not that it really matters, but this is just shit.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.heavy metal's an ass, he's a heavy metal ass.

As far as the truck goes, that's awsome. I like hearin stories about trucks people learned with and had fun with. I'ld love to have that one in my colection, but I think it might really piss the neighbours off. awsome truck, good to hear good things from the south, and allow me to appologize on behalf of heavy, I hear he was dropped as a child, many times. He can't help it.

thats soo cool what year is it and what axles did it have under it builder1?

It was a 1959 ford body with 2 1/2 ton 6x6 axles, the 1953 axles, the old one with the third member like a 9 inch ford. Someone cut the back axle out and put the ford frame on top of the 6x6 frame, a little over kill. But the body was on it. It seem to me that it had an automatic trans, with a 4 speed behind that going in to the transfer case. It would pull a house, but that was about all it was good for. No power steering. LOL!
