Probably not too many shops/welders out there willing to take this chance. I've seen it done, but the liability is huge if a wheel gives out after being widened/welded. I'm surprised in this day of accessoried that no one makes a wider dually rim?

I don't know of anybody personally around the Loops but if you talk to some of the local wheel shops they might be able to steer you towards some of the wheel repair and refinishers that might be able to help ya with that.

It used to be common practice with the hot rodders and early "monster 4x4s"

when i lived in winnipeg there was a wheel repair shop that would do em,, $25 a wheel.. they had a mig welder on a arm,, and the wheel rotated clamped into a assembly... I had some 6" chevy rallies made into 10''s for a old lowrider s-10.. was pretty cool cheap way to get a custom wheel no one else was running. [cheers]

Alternatively, can't you get some TSL SS's? Those are designed for duallies..

hey peter,
yes u can get some dually wheels widened. I was planning on doing it to my dually.
There is a company in edmonton that does it. I will try to find the link for it. I ran a 315/75/16 on my stock dually 6" wheel. I had to run a 2" spacer in the rear. Not sure how wide of spacer u will need with the wheels wider....
