We've been out on a few rides since getting back from Trout lake, just been too lazy to resize and post! :o So, here are the last few weekends lumped into one post. We didn't do any one really spectacular ride since getting back, so not worth spreading them out.

Took my Daughter along with Zukkin and his Dad up to the Canex mine above Salmo then dropped down to Lost creek and rode to the summit. Can't complain about the weather we've had all summer, and this day wasn't a dissapointment either. Only downfall is it's been too warm for hunting, we need some snow.

One of the older workings, I think it's the Dodger adit.

Stopped for lunch at a trappers cabin on Lost creek

The top of Lost creek. Next valley to the south is the top of the Salmo-Creston summit, or the highest paved pass I believe in all of BC, definitely in the south.

The following weekend we took a ride on the railbed between Castlegar and Christina Lake and explored some of the newer logging roads.

Will picked the wrong line down the sidehill and flopped it. Rolled 3 times and did almost no damage, minor scatches and popped a bead which we reseated with my 12volt compressor

Awesome pictures ,you sure did some exploring, we are hoping to get a quad soon because when you are driving around in a dodge cub cab diesel they don't exactly turn on a dime and are very heavy if you get stuck[we do care a winch] but on our holidays there last week we were by ourselves and didn't have good maps so we didn't explore off road much but next year we plan to do things abit different and bring some better maps [we have good ones for the okanagon area but not Kootenay area]

Not sure why it was blocked, no private property/no tresspassing signs.
It just went into a small cutblock and accessed the gas line.

Shera, let me know if you want some info next time you're in the area. I've got most of my treks saved on Mapsource as tracks. Helps to update the old maps that way.
