This is St. Elias Lake, from here you canoe to the campsite(s) or just start hiking.....
62970

The fire spot.
62971

People go up here for the view...
62972

The trail even has a wildlife barrier.....
62973

but no wildlife.
62974

Looking for bears...
62975

none to be had.....
62976

We came accross this section of the Alaska Hwy, now not used.
62977

No passing on this old girl.
62978

In memory of...
62979

one of the many men that built the Hwy...
62980

To die in a Jeep(Willy's at that time)!! Hopefully he was having fun!!
62981

Mile 1117.
62982

This dude launched his boat, but needed a pull to get out(sans boat!).
62983

More passing lane...
62984

And then it started to rain....
62985

Supersized D-ring, this is for all you guys running 49's on full sized trucks!
62986

Old culvert...
62987

The new workshop....
62988

Looking at Sheep Mountain, this is where the Hwy builders from the South met the builders from the North. The base of this mountain holds the Slim's River in it that feeds Kluane Lake, the largest in the Yukon. And a Nissan using the pipe as a scope hunting for Dall Sheep!!

No shit! Making me want to spend a summer up there with the quads and a camper.

Looks like a great sledding area too, lots of open slopes and meadows. [36]
