View Full Version : After the dredge #4 tour....

09-11-2007, 02:10 PM
So after we toured the beast(see dredge #4 post), we followed Bonanza Creek road untill it reaches Dominion Creek and Upper Bonanza(the largest amount of gold was in this area), where we started the Hunker Creek loop(70KM's est.). Found some other goofy stuff along the way to the next place.....

This is the view from King Solomans Dome. Below is Gold Bottom Creek, which of course, held no gold at all!! This road was built to bring supplies into Dominion and Sulfur Creeks.....

The Nissan-Abego and the in-laws Ranger(I'm trying to get him to keep it and build it!!)

The Dawson City jail, better hope it's not raining!!

O.K.!! so it's got a roof....

Think you can pick it?

Thought of guys like 87Pathy and Taxi when I saw this!! A fixer upper...

Things passengers do when they are bored...I tell ya!

A couple of newer right hand drive Landcruisers with some South American tour stickers all over em.

This is the Yukon River passing through Miles Canyon just south of Whitehorse. Prior to a hydro damm being built, these used to be nasty rappids where all the Klondike gold rushers needed to go through, dragging a years worth of goods(a ton). Something like 25 boats had crashed and 5 guys died in 2 hours...so everybody(7200 of em) hit the paddles a couple corners up and ended up in Canyon City. From here women and children had to walk to Whitehorse and only pro guides(picked by the policia) ran the boats through.

Hows THAT for some hard core ridez? Gettin ready for the 4+ rated trail. At the canyon parking lot actually.....[16]

Who's the boss ya ask? Proud of her tarp job!!

Our Haines Junction home at our friends R.V. park/campground. Rained a bit this summer...

So getting bored, we cruised some muddy back roads around H.J. and came out at the dump with the free store....and scored me a Tahoe!! Kinda beat and with an ugly ass interior, at took it with a grin on my face; only to wheel it it the groove of the dinner table!!:D

Between no wheel travel(just like the real one!!) and no locker, It was going to be part on dinner as it was almost ready(K.D. or sumptin')!!

So I got Mater(who was once again drunk and stoned!) to come yank er out. He almost stuck it too, note his diff....:confused0006: Too much time......

The Knutzen mud boggin truck(Klondike mud bog post) got some tires and a cover shot this year!!

The flag girls did a great job...they didn't stay clean for long.

A little cruise down the mossy 2 track...Yukon green-laning?

I went to Dawson City a while back, an absolute beautiful place. I liked walking down the old wood plank sidewalks, cheap breakfasts and checking out that Dome on top of the mountain. Seeing the Klondike and the Yukon rivers meet was really cool. The history behind the Asbestos slide and the indians that were trapped was really cool too.

Definately wanna get back up there.
