Need some info or parts if I get lucky :D on my 73 with the top door, I can open it with a piece of wire (see picture) but I don't know what parts I need and can't find a parts diagram anywhere. Anyone got a diagram or a picture of both sides or the actual parts themselves? :) I found a place on line sells used stuff so I can get it just don't know what to order. Inside doesn't have the handle but everything else is there I think. :dontknow:

Looks to me like you only need the handle and the rod. If you want a pic your best bet is to go to a stealership and ask to see a pic on their computor.
You should sign up on www.ih8mud.com as well, there is a vast amount of folks on there with alot of know how and one guy called Cruiser Dan that works for American Toyota in Albequerque NM that you should be ordering ALL your stock Toyota parts from. Here are a few places you could try
www.man-a-fre.com
www.cruiseroutfitters.com
www.cruiserparts.net
www.gscruiserparts.com
Good luck with your search

Not sure if you have any parts, but my old one had the commonly broken part on it (looks like a UBC Tbird) that was pretty easy to make up and replace.

If that doesn't work, the link has some good pics as to what you need to put it back together. http://www.globalsoftware-inc.com/coolerman/fj40/SlideShows/SlideShowHatchRepair/

Or contact cruiser steve at www.extremebends.com

Good luck!
