Anyone ever make their own shackles for an FJ and if so what size bolts did you use? The stock shackles use 15mm bolts and I can't find any, just 14mm and 16mm. Especially with a 4" shank. :dontknow:

[cheers] Thanks

9/16 Works the best, and is readily available at bolt supply houses in grade 5 and 8.

Thanks....never heard of that place mj but I'll look.

according to this... http://www.engineersedge.com/drill_sizes.htm

I could go slightly under, .5781 or 37/64 or slightly over, .5937 or 19/32 as 15mm converts to .59055"

Just being a bit anal here I guess but I would like to use the right size bolt but is it that critical in a poly bushing? [cheers]

Hey Joe
Why not just turn down the 19/32 by .0315? 30 thou on the threads shouldn't matter.:D

Think I will go with the 19/32" bolts, drill the bushings out, it's not very much anyway.
