After I picked up Shelley in Inuvik, we headed down the Dempster Hwy(800KM's of dirt/mud). Some cool stuff along the way.......[cheers]

Here's a row of snow cats in Inuvik that transport stuff for oil and gas companies.

Do you know your diffs?
60693

Tranfer case with disk brake. Note heat blanket under engine area!
60694

Hows that for a mini spare...track? This is the rear end track and axle.
60695

The beast. Had highback bucket seats in the back. Could ya imagine a camperized version?
60696

Here's a 60's Sno Cat....still runs fine!:D
60697

Oh yeah!! Need I say more?
60698

This beast blades the ice roads, all while spraying water from it's ass building up the ice for the required thickness to run the big rigs across the rivers and/or lakes/bogs.....

Homes around Inuvik.
60701

New house, not too sure why they have to be sooo high off the ground. Note the utilidor(above ground metal pipes) where water, septic and al that good stuff runs through in a warmed environment!!
60702

It screams "come bash on me!!!".
60703

I used to live in the arctic, and houses are built like that because of the permafrost in the ground.
