well I'm rebuildin my rear diff and i put the pinion in and tightened it up but it feels like theres way to much play.....does anyboy know wat the torque specs fer it are or if its normal how much play is to much?

dunno about the fords much but my chevy 10 bolt had some slop in the yoke, put a new seal in(15bucks)tightened to factory spec and shes spins nicely and has no slop. Dont overtighten it, it'll get really stiff.

new crush sleeve i hope. if yes then keep going its very precise and you gotta know the right feel and preload. prob best to get it set up prop et a shop. remember to give each end of the pinion a "tap" with a punch to set your bearings. you'll know when youve gone too far. look up the spec and youll find the turning force needed in inch/lbs not much. ill try to find you some specs tommorow, pm for more details
