cool i got the same axle[cheers]

08-15-2007, 01:02 PM
The c-bushing tabs fit real shitty I had to grind a 1/4 inch off all 4 so that the radius arm would fit like stock. If I had to do it over I would use the cage off road parts

all that grinding pain and all you got to show is the finished product?

I recommend losing the drop pitman arm and going back to a stock one.
the leverage is hard on the frame, I have 2 here that are all spiderweb cracked around the front lower steering box bolt starting from the weld end point at the gap they left between the boxing member in the frame and the crossmember. it is a bitch to fix.
see what the angle will be if you run crossover draglink to the PS knuckle.
I know the draglink length will be longer then the panhard that way.
I tried the drop arm and made a matching drop panhard bar on mine but I am not happy with it.

09-01-2007, 01:05 PM
thanks MJ. I lost the befor and after pics of the grinding :(. and the cross over/high steer that im getting made uses all of the stock draglink and tie rods and stock pitman arm

How much for thos front lift springs

09-04-2007, 12:07 PM
the lift came as a kit. jbg sells them..

m j
09-04-2007, 04:55 PM
lift springs are about $165usd plus shipping
they ship UPS usually so UPS nails you another $50 plus taxes
are those the superflexes or the superlifts, they look like my 9" superlifts

09-06-2007, 01:21 AM

09-06-2007, 04:29 PM
sweet bike is that a Huffy?

09-06-2007, 06:09 PM

09-07-2007, 08:36 AM
thats gonna be one kickass bronco when you're done with it. specs?

whats so special about the saginaw pumps? my chev has one?cause they're not ford PS pumps?

09-07-2007, 12:59 PM
total of 9" lift dana 60 front 14boltff rear C6 with wide ratio kit np205. Soon to have 42" tsl on 17" allied bead locks 4.88 gears and lockers of some sort to. and im building a 466 to replace the one thats in there that should make around 700hp at 6000rpm and 650ftlbs at 3500rpm

m j
09-07-2007, 06:52 PM
so more of a fuel mileage build then?

09-09-2007, 01:06 AM
just wait till you see the induction set up Ive got for this thing! mileage haha

thats gonna be one kickass bronco when you're done with it. specs?

whats so special about the saginaw pumps? my chev has one?cause they're not ford PS pumps?

nothing special
the info to mod them is available online is about the only thing that makes them more desireable

10-03-2007, 05:13 PM
so I got this idea now that I should take the front 6" springs out and put 9" lift springs in it and do a sky shackle flip in the rear.
What are your thoughts on this?? it would make the truck have bout 11-12" of lift then

10-03-2007, 05:25 PM
you would definately need bigger radius arm drop brackets and possibly need to do something with the steering

10-03-2007, 06:35 PM
im not to worried bout the radius arms as im working on making my own and steering I got a set of mudrams high steer arms

10-03-2007, 07:06 PM

11-28-2007, 10:34 AM
60' and 70's era chevs and fords are some of the best looking trucks.

11-28-2007, 12:02 PM
:s30x: im a ford fan, but i guess some of the chevs are ok too

11-28-2007, 12:38 PM

05-20-2008, 12:21 AM

05-20-2008, 04:32 PM
Awesome build  , I did all the same grinding on my radius arm brackets to make them fit, except I also had to trim the diff housing on the tube because the newer diffs have less room. Those guages look wicked, and I hear really good things about the Cage arms. Can't wait to see the finished product!

05-21-2008, 03:11 AM
yea toooo much grinding a full day and im not sure what im doing yet with the radius arms. and I have to have it drivable by the end of june

05-23-2008, 10:49 PM
Very nice build there...[cheers][cheers][cheers]

05-23-2008, 10:51 PM
Hows the frame???
78 was a bad year (for frames)
What did you end up with for radius arms???
Wristed is nice but extended will do nearly as well and be stronger...

05-24-2008, 09:36 PM
the frame and floor are mint and the arms arnt done yet the truck was put on hold for awhile there all I can tell you is there not wristed

05-24-2008, 10:09 PM
Wow got a real thing against Wristed arms hey???:dontknow:

05-26-2008, 02:36 AM
yup seen a few break and twist just seems un safe

02-13-2009, 12:44 AM

home made radius arms

02-15-2009, 01:13 PM
Question????? Why are you running coils up front instead of putting leafs up front?? What made you stay with the coils?
But its looking good man. Very nice!

02-15-2009, 05:57 PM
well I like the ride of coils and I dident want to regress in time!!! coils flex better, ride better and it was just as much work as making leaf spring stuff and I wanted to move the diff forward and you cant do that with leafs and the factory setup was coils and its not as hard as you think to do a coil set up
