We hit some new dirt last Sunday, nice again to find a place we haven't rode yet. Also met another fellow FIBC'er, Yota90ca, good meeting ya Kris! [cheers] Headed up Pedro creek which is in the Slocan valley. Got up to 6500' on the ridge, saw a couple of sub-alpine lakes and got just a little dusty. Sure could use a couple days of heavy rain right now. Lots of forest fires in the area too. Got a shot of one that started that afternoon above Slocan city, Springer creek area which has been on the BCTV news last couple days.

First of the radio towers we saw on the ridge

Even in the Kootenays we can't get away from grafitti. [16]

This microwave tower was friggen tall, hate to be the tech that has to climb up and service it!

Looking at the third tower along the ridge from the middle tower

Yota's home, Slocan Park, about 4700' below us.

Tried to get to Rockslide lake, but this quad trail ended about 1/3 way there and we couldn't convince a couple of the guys into walking the 1/4 mile there

Some old logging road we found and the Valhallas in the background.
58571

Another little lake we found, I'm calling it Falls lake because it's close to a creek with that name.
58572

Yota almost did a Jeepnut, came close to falling in the water, but managed to save it.
58573

58574

Donut lake, why it's called that we have no idea. Thought there would be an island in the middle, but nothing. Enjoyed the hike down and then back up though, good workout!
58575

58576

Some random logging pics. Cool how he parked on some logs to get a taller reach to stack the pile.

And the Springer creek fire shortly after it took off in the afternoon.

Thanks for letting me ride with you guys. Sure beats riding around the property. [cheers]

The logging equipment was active, just no one wants to work on the weekend.
