So I just put a rebuilt C6 into my 72 Ford. I got this tranny free from a buddy. He told me the tranny was rebuilt and only has like 10 hours on it. Heres the thing, it had been sitting for 15 years! I didnt really trust it to begin with, but it was free! When the motor/tranny are cold, it seems to work fine, wont downshift, have to do it manually. When it gets hot though, I lose all forward gears, reverse still somewhat works. It will kinda work in 1st gear with the engine revving high.

Sound like its pooched?

Also, another question, can you hook up a tranny cooler wrong? Maybe I did and thats the problem. Im running both the rad cooler and a tranny cooler.
Oh yeah, I changed the filter and fluid and seals before I put the tranny in.

If its gone, Im throwing a 4-speed back in 'er!!

No, unfortunatley, mines a 2WD C6 with a divorced 205. Thanks for the offer though![cheers]

Looks like I will just be getting this one rebuilt. Oh well, I guess! Its just part of owning an old 4x4!
