View Full Version : Dodge doodes....HELP! ;)

Been looking at this truck, I'll admit I'm not a Dodge fan but I've only had gas engined ones. I like the old ones, had a 74 and it was okay. This one is not a princess for sure, little bit of rust showing, 310 kms, few dents and scratches which is a bonus in my case the way I drive. It's a 92, 3/4 ton, Turbo Cummins, all set up for towing. Air, cruise, electric windows, new tranny last year (5 speed). Big front bumper with an 8274 Warn. Good tires. Seats have been changed for some reason...nice seats tho just the wrong colour.

So my question, is it worth much, guy is asking 10,200 which I think is a bit high. I checked prices on the net, they're all over. I need a dependable truck I can afford to drive in a little more comfort and safety than I am used to and for camping but I dunno shit about Dodges so what do you think?

Thanks. [cheers]

i think the k's are nothin to worry about but the rust is... look under it to see how far advanced it is other than that .... extra cab's are dam hard to find ... be a nice rig for ur drives down and u could tow and toy's u want ... imo ...

Thanks B...yeah I think it would be great for what I need, the rust is not too bad, the one cab corner is worse than any of it. If he still has it Saturday I am gonna crawl all over it, from what I saw today it looks not so bad, like I said, dinged up a bit but overall....okay. [cheers]

those cab corners are shot that looks to me from the inside out
oh and the exhaust manifold is rusty so knock off 1000 bucks just for that

i know where there is a flawless one but not an extra cab ... owned by 1 owner who was a heavy duty mecanic has all the bells and whistles for about the same money ... but ive been thinking about it for myself ... if u don't get that one u can check it out next time ur down

in my oppinion thats a pretty good deal the cummings will run for as long as you live there are 2 here in kamloops that have over 1 million miles on them and still running strong..i sold my 91 with 650000 kms on it 2 years ago for 7500 so if you dont buy it pm me the number... a plus of them old cummings are that my automatic got 27 mpg so the standard should get a little better i would think

thats too bad. you think thats expensive try finding a low km '98 12 valve, short box, quad cab, 5 speed(only year with that complete combination) ....I've seen em up over $30G and apparently there's only about 1000 '98 12 valves in BC.('98 you got the new interior as well)
My $0.02: stay away from the Auto and there is nothing better than the 12 Valve Cummins for mileage, reliability and power(with some easy mods).
