RebelAngelle and me went down to Iona Beach to walk the Jetty (http://www.funinbc.com/forum/member.php?u=4392)
niether of us had walked it before. At first sight my response is well thats pretty short i'll guess we'll walk it twice or find a trail. Well looks are deceiving, walk was 8km total. So nice to walk down on the ocean the temp dropped 10c between burnaby and the beach (well according to the car).

Looking back to land from the end of the Jetty

Deb - i didn't check any signs but people were walking dogs down there. Its nice cause its so much cooler on the water vs walking inland

How do you get to there?

it is right down by YVR... If you come across the Arther Lange Bridge, take a right at Templton Rd... There are signs for Iona Beach and McDonald beach... Just follow the road and it basically dead ends at Iona Beach.

how did it smell down there?

Mudgirl

smells like sea down there

- the Jetty carries waste water to the sea. Goes out 4km then an additional 3km underwater and dumps it into the ocean.

It's a great place. We used to wheel out there. Was fun until my buddy got stuck in his sami and the tide came in. [16]
Great pics. I'm glad it was cooler somewhere yesterday.
