Todd and I headed up to Salsbury Lake this weekend for a little camping and fishing... we managed to find our way in the dark passed out for the night and woke to a pretty nice day.

He never wants to smile for the camera!

The Stellar Jay that watched us all weekend... or was just waiting to see if we would leave any garbage. Again every campsite by the lakeside had garbage. We picked up a bunch, but it's still depressing to find diapers and bottles all over... it's not just grads that leave garbage!

55758

Todd stretchin' his brain cells... after spending the day fishing (caught a nice 12" that I threw back) we headed in to charge the battery

Salsbury Lake... notice the ripples on the top of this photo? I've actually rotated the photo, and the reflection is on the top! The water was strangely flat and schools of fry could be seen all over surfacing and jumping...

Here's another lovely photo of the lake...

and a final shot

Nice pics! I like the last one with the cloud in the water, awesome! Never been to Salisbury, looks nice, me and the husband will have to go some day. What's the road like, is it 4x4 only or can we take a trailer there?

Hey there,
No trailers can get through. They've deactivated the Lake with a nice little ditch. You don't need a 4x4 though, we got through with a truck, camper and boat trailer, but even the boat hitch dragged a bit.

We had fun! :D

how bad is the ditch? can a tent trailer get through OK? or did your boat trailer barely make it through?

No tent trailer. Todd's friends tried to make it through last year and didn't make it. The boat trailer made it but the front support dug right in. Even the camper jacks brushed the ground (just) :dontknow:

Damn you Jay, now I'll be singing wang-chung all day. :party0010: :party0010: :party0010: :party0010: :party0010: :party0010:

Not one soul when we got there. Some guys came for the day on Saturday and left in the afternoon... four big guys in a aluminum boat made for max 290 lbs!! We thought for sure they were going over... and some father with two kids for about 30 minutes.
It's a narrow route going in with a lot of tree branches overhanging, but the camper made it through fine.
Needs some clean up though. Garbage in every site, though not to bad. [16]

You know what, I have no idea. Todd’s been there before and it was dark when we were heading in, so I didn’t see much. I’m sure there is someone who could help you out on the board though. :dontknow:
I did find this map helpful… can’t remember where I got it though…
