ive got a 1969 chv 4x4 1/2 ton, did a shackle flip and replaced the leafs with 3/4 ton 26- 29? and replaced the 12 bolt for 14 semi floater. i was wonndering if that would change my wheel base....couse it shur as f#### looks like it and my box is being rebuilt as we speek ive got 124 1/8 center to center of axles, 51 1/2 from the cab to the center of the tire....HELP ME.. let me know!!:confused0006: :confused0006: :dontknow: :dontknow:
when you did the shackle flip it pushed your axle down, causing your wheelbase to shorten a bit it also points your diff up, screwing with your pinion angle with your driveshaft. To do a proper shackle flip you will need to drop the front rear spring hanger down on the frame to keep the same wheelbase.
if you don't mind the shorter wheelbase and are cutting fenders you can add shims to correct your pinion angle or cut off your stock spring perches on your diff and reweld them at the proper angle.

the pumkin is also larger on the 14 bolt which will efect your driveshaft length
and check your shackles you may have some issues there aswell if you don't move the hangers

ottoman, that makes sence bout the bigger diff and i think i have a nice angle of the shacles i used some belltech 2" drop shacles and hangers from offroaddesign.com but still had to move'em a lil. ive got about a 3/4 inch angle towards the rear with little or no wieght on it!
