Whats the story behind the 06' Diesle Chev Stuck in the mud last nite at postil around 11pm? I got there as like 3 fights broke out, the army-truck broke its winch and when the chev nearly rolled.

I had to leave to work... whats the outcome and pics?

Tow truck guys need to learn how to do recovery's,lower the boom down so you get a straighter pull and the tires stay on the ground and use snatch blocks.

I've seen it around town, and I saw it up there. I can't beleive it went in. I really can't beleive the owner let someone else drive it. I'm no legal expert here, but I don't think there's much legal here, friendly maybee, but nothing legal. The owner shoulda known it wouldn't work, no matter the goating. That 6x6 was almost stuck at one point, common man.

Not a situation I'ld like to be in.

o well all worked out in the end no big deal it was doing just fine till i hit a hole side ways then it stoped and the 4x4 quit working i just know that i wont be buying a chevy anytime soon wink wink lol

** does anyone remember when shane took hit ford threw it was an almost brand new f350 and it had bald superswampers and it did great all trew the pit got stuck once and was almost the same deal with flipping it but also got out ok

im guessing the only reason he did not have it up ther this year is because it was rolled :(

Lifting the truck out of the mud is the preferred method. If the tires or frame are dug in the ground, it takes more effort to drag it straight through the mud then it does to lift it over top. If a truck weighs 5000lbs, that's straight off the ground.... now if you are dragging it through a foot of mud, what kind of pull do you think it takes? I agree on the snatch block though, but don't know how much cable the truck had. I'm not saying that all recoveries should be done with vertical lifts from a crane, but having an upward pull can do wonders for freeing a truck. Wheelieing the tow truck should be avoided though, but point for picture opportunities.

My husband was one of the tow truck drivers pulling it out, not the one in the pics his was over farther. There was very little they could do about the angle they were pulling him out because of all the other trucks and people standing around who were in the way. They did the best pull they could given the situation. Also the guy actually got a great deal on the recovery and tow, not $1200, about a quarter of that. Try getting your facts straight before you start beaking offgo fuck yourself

Well after reading this thread and seeing these pics heres my final thoughts.

1) This is a show truck and does not belong in the mud. I can't tolerate people who throw 22" rims onto a truck like this and run low profile tires and think its a 4x4; just cause you have a 4x4 sticker on the door don't mean anything.

2) To the guy who drove it into the lake, no offense but that was pretty stupid. I haven't done much serious 4x4'n but I grew up in a family that was serious about it and this is one of those times you should have bowed out.

This just goes to show that you can put all the money into a truck to make it look like it go rompin in the mud but in the end the guy who spent 3/4 less ten you didn't end up with a massive bill and look dumb for attempting this stunt.

It's not jealousy at all [16] It is pure curiousity is all it is.
Kelowna's a small town and it was an awesome looking truck..[36]
It's sad when something so pretty lays burned in a wrecking yard...we just wanted to know how she died:dontknow: People work very hard to put so much of their paychecks to their trucks.[36] It's hard to see when you see someone having no regard or respect in what they are driving...When you get to drinking it's easy to get talked into playing in the pond(with your own truck!) People sink them and build it back...and do it all over again....and again and again..I think it just seems a little fishy to see it burned...and this is probably none of our business either:dontknow: Mario's sits where anyone in the Rutland area sees...So you see..We aren't jealous...just curious[cheers]

Cool lookin truck ------would sure turn heads on the street but defintly not ment to go into the mud ! -----Worth far to much to do that !

It is an interesting call on the tow truck and I would tend to agree if its possibly to pull from a higher point like he was using his boom there would be less drag -------------most of us dont have that option as our bumpers are -welll -at bumper hieght :)

Good on the guy that took it in to do as he said ------Fun read -----bruce
