Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone uses the stock rims with 31's and has any problems with rubbing on the inner sidewall of the tire against the unibody on an XJ?

I'm running BFG M/T's, 31x10.50 and rub a bit at full lock. They rub my LCAs a bit and my skid plate.

Do you have any lift? I'm just about at 4", and I think they would rub more at stock height.

You can adjust the steering stops by placing washers behind them, I did this on my last XJ it solved the problem, here's a link. http://polytropia.com/cherokee/tweaks/

I've got the stock steelies and don't rub on the inner body at the rear but rub on my RE swaybar disconnects in the front when turning sharp. Buddy has stock aluminum rims and rubs the rear on the inner body. I just bought black steelies 15X8 more offset, should cure some of my rubbing I hope. Mind you it only rubs with the swaybar connected which isn't the case off the blacktop! :D

My stock wheels were the 15X6. Way too small for 31's but didn't have cash until now to buy proper wheels. Bought some 15X8 this week, much better, no rubbing, tire doesn't bulge like a balloon. Only shitty thing is the front tires stick out past the flares now.

hahah you're worried about it sticking out past the fenders??? I think mine stick out a good 2", and I've never been hassled by the cops or DOT about it..... yet...

Is your OFFSET on your wheels -19mm???

More like - 10 or 12. Probably 3 3/4 to 4" BS.
