Saw two of these at dump in Forest Grove. One still on truck other sitting behind pile. One in the pic is on an old mercury pickup. License plate says 1973 :P

can't see the cover but they did come as one tons as well

if it had a removeablre cover it's definatly an eaton but the 5 stud does seem weird [wako]

I think it's an old low pinion ford nine 5 on 5 1/2 it looks the same as the one in my lincoln but the brakes are much smaller

Looks like Dodge 8 3/4 mehbeh.....:dontknow:
It has the flat mounting pads for a pinion snubber.
I know its in an old Merc but it could be a hotord type maneuver on someones part.

lincoln had a 9" 1/4 axle with rear disc brakes, possible an old 1 peice 8 inch?

I'll check for a rear cover. Is it worth salvaging? There is another one behind the pile with wheels mounted. I'll check it.

Ford 8" looks just like the 9" - and would have a removable pinion support.

I vote for Mopar 8-3/4".

well it ain't an eaton its not a full floater its a semi float c clip style...id says its some blue oval rear end..:dontknow:

no rear cover...
