Decided to pick up some new rubber for the jeep.I know a guy from Herd of Turtles that claims he can get into places on Irok's that other guys he's wheeling with can't get to with boggers.I drive the jeep everyday, haven't decided if I'm selling my tires or not,may keep them for winter.Does anyone have any input here :ie have used Irok's and their performance for you.The price is comparable so that isn't an issue.

I would say if your running smaller than a 38 go with the irocks if bigger and you got power go with the boggers ,boggers work best with lots of power.

Boggers are for pussies, or atleast they are until I can replace my sliced one

as an all around tire iroks would be better. But, if you only wheel around here, have the power, never drive on slick rock, go with boggers. If you eve drive on slick rock, or just rock crawling, don't go with boggers. OR, run boggers in back and TSL's up front.

I personally run TSL's for the overall offroad prowess. Boggers suck on the road. TSL's and iroks aren't bad. (iroks are actually nice on the road compared to most).

Bull shit, I love my boggers on the slickrock and crawling through the creekbeds

walt, to be honest... you are the only person i have ever heard say that.

When i ran the con, everybody i spoke to that had boggers hated them on the rock.

as you and i know, when your locked in the front steering sucks. But boggers make it worse. Very little lateral traction.

My buddy ran Radial Iroks on his heavily modified sami. He could go every place i could without issue. The only thing that he had bad to say about them is they don't clean very well. and they didn't flex very well with his light weight. Another buddy of mine in north carolina ran them on his jeep. He went every where in Tellico that he wanted (and ony lsd in the rear)

Why would you need lateral traction ?

I myself have had not a prob running TSL's anywhere, mud rocks moss civic's(all these found at the mall aswell:D )good allround tire,if I had toy axel's I would go Iroc's to see all the rave and then prob go back to TSL's,me puts lot-o-miles on wheeling:party0010:

Iroks for trails, Boggers for mud.

It depends what kind of trail ya like to run,

I've been really happy with my SX's on the trails though.

I use to run 36: tsl`s and I just got 38.5 boggers and they kick tsl`s ass big time on the trail. However on the road boggers suck but thats what bfg mud`s are for.

look, BC= boggers. Washington = boggers or TSL's oregon =same. Cali TSL's or SX's or iroks.

If your only going to wheel in bc or even half of it in BC go boggers.. since your gonna have rollers, no problem driving it on a normal ocation. If you don't want to change tires all the time, go TSL or irok radials.

MY 2 cents..

I Know a couple guys who have switched from Boggers to TSL or irok and say they'd never go back due to the huge increase in traction. And one guy on Boggers who says they sucks ass around here and wants to change.

Unless ya groove the shit outta bogers they don't seem to work that well around here for trails due to nsty sidehilling.

i can't really speak for the iroks because i have'nt ran them, but i've heard that there pretty much like the ssr's, i've ran both that and the bogger, and what i've found with the bogger is, if you get the slightest bit stuck with that tire and try to get out on your own h/p your fucked, cause they just keep diggin, where as the ssr would walk right through once you've stopped, it does'nt keep digging like the bogger does, and it does'nt were down on the road as fast either.

I have got stuck in my tsl`s and dug ruts got pulled out and Warlord made it through the same spot on boggers:dontknow:
So far I like my boggers for wheeling way more then I ever liked my tsl`s.

I had the same size boggers and swampers on 2 different vehicles one was a blazer with swampers and big block the other was a f250 bigblock on boggers.

I didnt get out as much with the boggers but i found they worked better for our all around conditions. I think it your going to be doing rockcrawling swampers would be better.

Boggers just keep on biting and biting till they get you out of the hole.

My vote is boggers.

So far it's pretty much a 50/50 split. So I'm going to keep one of the tires I have now,get one bogger, one Irok, and to make things interesting one bfg allterrrain. That should make for an interesting ride. Calm down just kidding.I'm not a big mud fan, like doing trails and rocks.Don't have huge horsepower(276 on the dyno, figured about 240 on the road) and have a yj that doesn't weigh much.

Yeah, if it your daily driver don`t get the boggers. there hell on the street and they will not last long.

I liked my tsl`s too , I used them for my street tire and wheeling tire.

Always broke
05-12-2007, 01:24 PM
Be carefull the Irok's are supposed to wear really fast on the street i wold go with regular LTB'S or SX'S they wear better, The SSR's start out with a really shallow tread so i would not go with them.:dontknow:

Keep what ya got for the street and get the boggers w/ some cheap rim and then switch 'em over when ya want to wheel.

Thats what I did for a bit and then ya think "Jeeps looks sad w/o the boggers" and ya leave them on

in my opinion the boggers are the best offroad tire around here, but if ur using it on the street for any distance id say go iroc, ive ran 38.5 boggers,35 BFG,toyo opencountry muds, mickeythompson MTZ and tsl's

I got bout 5000k's on the tsl's and they are down to little bout half, and that's on a sammy:eek: ,lockers make it worse but I would never buy a swamper if your ever gonna dd it:cool:

i ran 37x14.00 bias iroks on the pavement for 2 years and they maybe half worn. i havent runa bogger but the irok is a pretty good all around tire. if you gonan run specific mud and deep marsh hi mountain stuff i'd rec boggers. maybe the 38x11.50 if you dont have a ton of power?

Sticking with the 35-36 inch range for now,'bout the size Tim has on his Jeep.As previously stated not a big boggin' fan, would rather do trails and see things instead of bogging.

Baja Claws!!!!!![36][36][36][36][36]

i biased but i do recommend them for consideration.
For trails and rock crawlin...the Claws are sexcellent.
