If your wanting to run or am running dual cases with the sm465 and are sick of putting up with your worn out 10spline input on the np203 or can't find one. Here is the solution I came up with to keep your driveline the same lenght and switch over to the stonger and tighter 32spline found behind the turbo 400 trans. Finding the 32spline np203 is easy compared to the very rare 10 spline 203, get yourself one of them, get a 2whdr sm465 for the main shaft. Pull the main shaft and send it down to OTT industrys to get the output turned down to 32spline and then do a re and re of main shafts in your 4whdr sm465. If you don't have the adtaper for the sm465 to 203 there are a couple shops that make and sell them. In my case I was just replacing my worn out 10 spline np203, so I had the adapter, the turbo400 np203 can be found cheap and the 2whdr sm465 should be free. After all said and done this was a cheap but labour intense project, but well worth it, anybody that has driven in my truck can tell you that with the worn out 10spline 203 , going down the road sounded like the truck was going to blow up

so are you using shims to set the endplay?

I am still waiting on my shaft that he said would be done before Fri last week.

Looking gooder You could also have gone with the SM420 shorter and stronger just really loud and they have a lower first i am told just a little harder to find[cheers]

they are not stronger and you have to use custom adapters to get them to mate to anything

as far as I could tell, the bearing is held tight agaisnt a thrust whasher by the nut 4whdr and yoke 2whdr. I had the snap ring machined tight agaisnt the bearing so tight that you have to lightly tap the snap ring into the goove, Do you think I might have problems with this??

I haven't looked closely at how they set endplay
at best it seems really rough by design with the ugly ball bearings etc.
you will be fine as long as you capture the snapring that holds the ballbearing to the case = proper gasket required on the adapter
