again, are you fucken stupid? what you just said made no sense. why does it matter if he uses a new 22re or not? he still has to swap in all the wiring sensors etc.

Now to your question. Yes it has been done. There is lots of write ups on pirate4x4, and some on bc4x4. Depending on what year EFI you get, will depend on how much work it is to swap in. The 83-84 efi that came out of celica's was pretty basic. do some research and get'r done.

you must know it all then :dontknow:

cause originaL I was going to get a conversion kit for my 22r but after talking to darryl and owen they both said it's too much hassle your better off swaping in a new motor then converting over to fuel enjected

you said "

explain to me how it is less work? swapping in a 22re does not make any of the wiring and shit required to put efi into a 1st gen any easier.

i havent, but researched it a while back. I have everything to do a swap into my 84, but i decided i liked the simplitcy of carb'd engine. Plus my carb seems to work good too

not hard at all , well in my opinion ..

7 wires .. minus 1 for the 85 engine (speed sensor) 2 relays and an EFI fuse , fuel tank , pump .. and of course the computer

I used the /84 EFI engine and harness , /84 only uses the speed sensor for the ATM tranny , so I was able to wire in the diagnostic plugs , as well as check engine light .

Just make your carb work better, Mine works great, I wouldn't go through the hassle of swapping it out unless I was getting a better bigger motor.

If you are still looking for an EFI I have a couple, 86 and 88 you can have your choice for a case of beer. I have just started a rebuild project and the truck I bought came with a spare and my parts truck has one too. let me know if your interested.
