ok so i can't spell worth shit... with an 86 murcary topaz i was just wondering how hard is it to replace the altanator? does the motor need to be pulled out to get to it or is it pretty easy to do?

it should be right up top...nothin hard... 2 bolts and a couple plugs... I'm doin the one today in the free tempo I got

not hard at all, just make sure you get your connections right.

so we got the alt fixed and sure enough half the problem was solved to why my car was making funny noises. it still needs a tune up done on it but it sounds better going up hills now. but then of course there was another problem over the weekend with the water pump belt. damn thing

I thought my truck was a money pit
good luck with all the fixes, I had one of those for a work car, to save money on gas and wear on my truck and I think it cost me more to keep fixing it[cheers]

thats what we thought it would be easier for the hubby to drive my car to and from work to save on the truck and gas but its costing about the same. and the truck is broken down right now so i don't have a vehicle to drive. well thats not true i'm driving my mother - in-laws "soccer mom" van. god i miss my vehicles
