Well, i have all these parts and aint gonna be able to pull it off... Seems I will have alot of serious issues with regards to the steering. soooooo, gonna sell the diffs, tranny, doubler and t-case, buy a 8.8 with discs, barry gave me a d44 for the front..

so much for the power wagon theme.. :dontknow:

sucks it didn't work out, wouldn't a dana 44 be better than the 8.8?

Need to sell your SYE or you going to use it?

Gotta buy one anyway might as well help you out if you gotta sell it. [cheers]

Gave the SYE to a good friend for helpin me out. Guess i gotta buy another, lmao..

the d44 was the front, d60 rear, the front steering is why i can't do it, way to many mods to make it work, and barry gave me a d44 front out of an old wagoneer that will work.
Gonna sell the d44 and d60 from the dodge and get an 8.8 with discs. Hopin to make enough sellin some shit to get 4:10 and locker for the rear. and I'll put a posi in the front.

Traded the doubler and the tranny to a mechanic thats gonna finish and install my new motor.

Traded my sled deck for a newly rebuilt tranny "SM465" 4 speed with granny first gear (all new sincros and such) [36]

If all goes well, I should be back to wheelin within 3-4 weeks. [36]

Still gonna paint it green tho, lol [36] :D

jim,
glad to hear your gonna be on the road pretty soon!
However, I have a couple possibly usefull tidbits of information

First of all, you had better be able to get more than a 8.8 with disk brake out of those axles.
If memory serves me, Dana 60 if its a FF than its worth 500 bucks
If its a Semi floater at lest 300.
That D44 should be an 8 lug with flat top knuckles. The flat tops are worth money. And would actually be very nice for a high steer setup.

Awsome, and thanks for the heads up, had no idea what they were worth, but, im more concerned with gettin what i need/want than makin money here. I've been quoted 600 for a 8.8 diff with 4:10's. so i need at least that much from everything, lol..

600 for an 8.8 from an explorer maybe, not a fullsize one.

What exactly are you building here? Are there SM465s for FORDS too? that's a chevy tranny in my book.

When done..

The yj will have an 8.8 rear with 4:10's and a detroit locker..
the front will be a d44 with 4:10's with ltd, till i can afford a locker for it..

an sm465 4 speed tranny (yes its chevy) with granny gears 7:1 newly rebuilt, new synchros, etc with a 205 t-case.

the 4.2 is being fitted with an offenhauser manifold and im puttin on a 470 holley truck avenger. will also have headers and flowmaster exhaust. headers came off a parts jeep i bought for 400 bux. (was a roll over with a new motor in it)

Im building a jeep that i hope will go where I want and last for a few years to come.

Im on EI right now so been relying on trade of parts I've collected over the year. Im doin pretty good so far.

An I nearly forgot, Phils gonna install a pimpin stereo [36] [36] [36] hopefully we swing in an alarm too :dontknow:
