I have a blown U-Joint. Is there a secret to get the hub off to get to my axle. I have had a pully on it, beaten it with a hammer. It's an '03 Dodge dana 60. Any help would be appreciated. There are no Dodge dealers in Powell River. Thanks

using a puller would be hard on the bearing wouldn't it?

Just keep working it. A huge slide hammer is good. Also try bashing thin chisel or screw driver between spindle and bearing to break it free of the rust.

Just do what us Jeep owners do dude!

go here and looky.------http://www.stu-offroad.com/axle/unitbearing/unitbearing-1.htm

Works like a hot damn..whatever that is.:dontknow:

Put the bolt or socket in there and then use your power steering to wiggle it out...i did it by myself by jiggling the the wheel a little at a time.

Haven't done one on the Dodges but on the little Jeeps you don't wanna pull on the hub like that you will pull the bearing apart what I do on the Jeeps is stick the bolts back in part way and use an air chisel on the bolts to push the bearing assembly out.

hey chris get a chisel and a big hammer and chisel between the bearing assembly and knuckle STOP pulling on that bearing your goin to pull the assembly apart. if it isnt already toast it should move quite easily when u get the chisel in there good luck and wear saftey glasses
