Have a dana 30 and it won't engage into 4x.There is vaccuum going to the transfer case but the pin in the front diff won't engage.Any help would be appreciated.I know the Posi Lok system would eliminate the problem but would like to get out this weekend, just geared and locked the front end and would like to try it out.

there is a couple of common problems with the vacum system on those things . . . the vacum switch on the Tcase has a tendancy to stick, the fork in the frt diff gets loose on the shaft of the vacum motor and the lines can get rotten and crack (usually where they pass under the battery)

check to make sure the vacum switches lines at the frt diff when you switch from 2wd to 4wd (the line closer to the pass wheel is the 2wd line and the one closer to the center of the diff is the 4wd line) if not switching the switch on the Tcase is probably stuck U will need to replace it. If no vac at the diff probably cracked lines

U can quick fix it by putting vac directly from the engine to the frt diff again the nipple closer to the pass wheel is 2wd the nipple closer to the drivers side is 4wd.
