anythings possible with enough fabrication know how. any particular reason for a diesel? towing? or just more power? JDM's come with the diesels, as well as a rare number of mini's. earlier land cruisers come with an assortment of diesels as well. i'd stick with an NA spec just to be safe...

if its just for raw power, a SBC is a tried and true swap. and of course, if you can get your hands on one...a 1UZ swap (http://www.1uzfe.com/) is a viable choice.

Im sure it is possible, its got the 3.4 now I am assuming. They are pretty much built off the same platform as the runner, and the surfs got the 2.4 so there yeah go..
