View Full Version : 92 explorer, body lift

Hey, I have a 1992 ford explorer, last night i installed a 3inch body lift, got all the bolts out exept for the front 2, ive tried everything i can think of but they seem to be in there REALLY good, im just wondering if anyone else has idea's as to what i can do to get them out. Thank's in advance!

do u mean the ones that are in the rad support?

well, the 2 mounts of to the side of the rad, yes.im gonna try taking some heat to metal that seems to have rusted itself to the bolt.

take a grinder to them cut them off the body lift should have new bolts with it

if i do that they will still be "rusted" to the little metal bushing caps?

do you have a long extention going down through the two holes in the rad support to get to the top of the bolt????
use a big breaker bar fron the top and it will either break or turn

i had the top nuts loosend off. i just couldnt get the bolt out, but i ended up cutting the bottom bolt head off and getting a punch and hitting it out. Thanks for all the help though!

i had to cut off the head of the bolt and drill out the metal bushing caps on my f-150

cut them from the bottom and put new new bolts in that come with the kit. i did on my 150

We got er dun, 33's go on today. Are these tires even gonna fit? lol. They're kinda bald anyway.

Also, we snapped one of the 2 rear body bolts, so most of it is still in the old mount....what do we do, torch it out and replace the factory mount?
