I got a 76 Ford F-250 With a divorced Np205 and i want to mate it with the 4 speed trans but i am wondering if any old nosecone built for a 205 will work. Or did ford make any different 205 cases. Resone im asking is i want to get ride of the third drive shaft cause i feel its the week link. One advantage to this setup is any 2wheel drive trans will work are much more abuntant than 4wheel parts. Imput would be greatly appreciated.

As my short mem. serves me, the 2 are not the same.

Try www.fullsizebronco.com & do a search.

the most stout of the ford 4-speeds (my personal fav) is the NP435, look for it in any 77-79 F150-250 or 76-79 Dodge. Its got an aluminum shifter basket instead of the cast iron ones. SUUUPPPERRRR LOW range of 6.67:1 in first gear.

there is nothing wrong with the divorsed case I will trade ya for a married one if you want but imo it is as good if not better because you can fix drive angles with it or get a married and use it as a doubler.

I believe that a ford 205 will mate to any transmission that a 208 or Borg Warner 1356 will. :dontknow:
