So im driving my ford home from work, just chillin right, and my left front wheel bearing starts to grind and scream, all of a sudden I lose ALL brakes. All in all I slosed down via a telephone pole and limped the truck home on back roads using my e-brake to stop. What the hell happened and what size is the nut holding the bearing in place?

sometimes too much run out on the rotors will expand the callipers enough that you loose your brakes. that may have been the case.

The rotors are fine, and its an 80' 2WD F150 (sorry got a little excited when i wrote the thread) but i would imagine if the wheel bearing is toast that would cause major runout.

yap they may be wobbling really bad if the bearings are that bad.

you wouldnt happen to know what size that nut is holding the hub and bearing in place would be would ya, i got to tell my buddy to bring a socket down so I can remove it.

that would be a good question for a ford guy. if its a 2 wheel truck, you could probably just mesure it. (easy to get to). sorry cant help you.

water pump pliers should do the trick

Hope your inner races aren't welded to your spindle. Loose bearing can put the tire pretty close to the flex line too, might have rubbed through or pulled the rubber out of the crimp.
