I'm gonna build a 14-bolt here to stick in my F350. Main reason is I already have the Detroit.

Soooo... anyone have some ideas how to drive the speedo? This detail isn't going to hold up the swap... just would be nice to have it working if possible.

No. runs off the speed sensor on the diff. There's nothing on the t-case.

i will look up the tread and post it here when i have a chance
a guy did it with a bw 4406 t case with no vss on it by changeing the tailhousing for one that did then he had to drill a little hole for the steel ball to hold the gear on the shaft .

Its a '95 F350 with 7.3 powerstroke and 1356 t-case (slip yoke).

The speedo is electric, so a mechanical cable drive would need some kind of converter.

I thought the wire that goes to the diff was for ABS ? does ford have a speed sensor that is non mechanical in compatible transfer cases?

you can do the same on your t case cause 1356's came with sensors on them

I'll have a closer look at the 1356 soon.

We whacked the old spring perches off the 14b last night. Those cast/forged perches look intimidating but they come off fast.

I'm gonna watch what I do with the brakes. If it needs more than shoes and wheel cyls I may go to discs.

The plug in the rear dif is known as a POSM, it runs your speedo & transmission. I'm not sure if you can get any adaptor for a T/C driven speedo cable. Best place to look is at www.fullsizebronco.com & do a search. They get all wierd if you just post a question.
